The STAR Chess Department runs after school classes in over 35 schools all over the Los Angeles area as well as in Sherman Oaks, Glendale, and San Diego. These classes are taught by seasoned chess professionals that are dedicated to teaching the students the beauty in chess and instilling a love of the game. Along with teaching the fundamentals of chess, the main purpose of the STAR chess classes is to help students develop skills such as problem solving, planning, spatial visualization, and sportsmanship. All of these skills will help prepare them to become successful students and members of society.
